Helene Kapp was born in 1960 and grew up on a farm in the foot-hills of the Magaliesberg in South Africa. This self-taught artist believes firmly that her paintings “must do the talking”. She considers herself as being a tool, a means to an end … that is, to portray the beauty and splendour of the creations of the Master Creator on canvas.
After the birth of her two children, she moved to Pretoria where she opened a private art school. In 1993 she was commissioned by Southern Life and supplied all their “Transvaal” Zone offices with paintings. Most of her paintings can be found in private collections and in countries such as the UK, Finland, USA and South Africa.
In 1995 she moved to the Bushveld where she found new inspiration and started concentrating on painting South African wildlife. In 1999 she was admitted to a group of elite artists – the African Wildlife Heritage Collection. She also received an award as Photographer of the Year in Mpumalanga in 2000.
Helene Kapp is a valued South African Wild Life Artist with great success in portraying the big-5 of Africa.
